I am from Kingscourt in Cavan and now split my time between Dublin (where I work) and Cavan (where I would like to work!). All my family live in Cavan. I think that, as a county, it has a lot to offer visitors. I've so far been unable to find a website that accurately reflects this fact and, therefore, I've decided to set up this blog. Its main purpose is to promote County Cavan - its attractions, its festivals, its hotels, etc. I hope it becomes a useful source of information for both visitors and residents alike. If you would like to promote an event, festival or your business on this site, please do not hesitate to contact me!
As a tourist destination, Cavan has a large potential catchment area with Dublin being only 60 minutes drive away (if not less). I think it makes a great get-away destination, even if its just for a day out from the city! I am always surprised about the variety of events that occur throughout the county on an annual basis, not to mention the random and wonderful visitor attractions. Let's hope we can really promote the county's many attractions via this blog!
